New Children’s Rosary at Knock Shrine

The Children’s Rosary group leader shared these lovely reflections from the first meeting of the Children’s Rosary at the Knock Shrine in Ireland:

“We are delighted to announce that on Sunday 19th March 2023, our first Children’s Rosary took place in the Apparition Chapel in Ireland’s International Eucharistic and Marian Shrine, Knock, Ireland. We were blessed to have 25 children kneel before the altar and statue of Our Blessed Mother, with St. Joseph and St. John the Evangelist on either side. The children in our group were aged between 3 and 15 years. They were fantastic and prayed so reverently.

Fr. Christopher Clarke, Carmelite, joined our Rosary, and Consecrated our group. Afterwards he brought some of us to meet with the Carmelite Sisters in Knock and tell them about the Children’s Rosary. We shared so much joy with them on the starting of our Children’s Rosary. It was a truly special occasion.”

“What was particularly special was that on the same day, we were celebrating Mother’s Day in Ireland, as well as being the eve of the Feast of St. Joseph. As it happens, Knock and Fatima are the only two Catholic Church approved apparitions where St. Joseph appeared with Our Blessed Mother. We honoured St. Joseph by having one of our Children’s Rosary group members by the name of Joseph read a Consecration prayer to St. Joseph. You can see the St. Joseph’s statue in white in the photographs.

Our Children’s Rosary will continue to meet monthly from now on, with our May Rosary scheduled for Saturday 13th May, the Feast Day of Our Lady of Fatima.”                                        ~Catherine McGowen
