The Children Experience Joy in Giving
Yesterday I received a note from Vietnam about the Children’s Rosary at Bac Hoa orphanage in Vietnam. These children meet each day at 7PM local time to hold a Children’s Rosary prayer group and pray the Rosary. This group feels particularly close to Mother Teresa and have tried to follow her example.
Tran shares this quote from Mother Teresa:
“The most terrible poverty is loneliness and the feeling of being unloved.” (Mother Teresa of Calcutta)
The children have tried to share their love with those less fortunate then themselves including a leper community that Tran visits. Yesterday, I found out that the children shared the rosaries we sent them with the people living in St. Francis Shelter. There is great suffering in this place as many of those adults and children living there have severe disabilities. Yet on the day when Tran brought the rosaries from the orphans, there were many smiles. The staff at the shelter sent the Children’s Rosary a thank you note for the donated Rosaries.
Some may have seen in an earlier post this week, that the children of Bac Hoa orphanage have made one humble request for themselves. They asked for a Child Jesus statue for Christmas.
I asked Tran, “If you get more than one statue of Baby Jesus what would you do with it?”
